23-25 September 2009
3rd International Conference on Texture and Anisotropy of
Polycrystals (ITAP-2)
University of Göttingen (Germany)
The great majority of solid state materials – natural as well as man-made ones – have a polycrystalline structure that is characterized by the size, shape, arrangement and orientation of the constituting crystals. Crystal orientation is particularly important due to the anisotropy of many physical properties. Therefore, the study of preferred crystal orientations, or crystallographic texture, is of major interest in research and industrial application.
Since ITAP-1, held in Clausthal (Germany) in 1997, and ITAP-2, held in Metz (France) in 2004, noticeable advancements in experimental as well as theoretical methods have been made.
ITAP-3 will be held in Göttingen (Germany) on 23-25 September 2009 and supplemented by Pre-Conference Workshops on 21-22 September 2009. The conference will provide a forum for authoritative presentations and high-level discussions. All aspects of texture phenomena in conventional and advanced materials are addressed, including metals, ceramics, polymers, composites, thin films, nanocrystalline materials, and rocks. The deadline for early registration is on July 31, 2009.
